3 days in the Cotswold - Chipping Campden

To the north of the Cotswold lies Chipping Campden, a small market town with a reputation for being the most beautiful high street in England. Stunning architectural limestone buildings line either side of the high street including country inns and tearooms (hurray for tea!). We were just passing through the town so didnt have much time to explore.

The town was one of the most important of the medieval wool towns.

The Old Market Hall

According to the Cotswold information and tour guide website, The Old Market Hall was built by Sir Baptist Hicks in 1627 for a cost of £90.00. Giving shelter to the local market sellers.

Being in the countryside, it was only right we should have afternoon tea with sandwiches and scones. Looking on Trip Adviser, we found Badgers' Hall tea room.  It is a very tradtional tea room - wooden beams and open fire. Food wasn't bad, they have homemade scones, cheese crumpets, lemon drizzle cake and more delightful cakes.

Salmon and cream cheese sandwiches, plain scone with jam and clotted cream
