The Cadbury World Experience

Since my sister had relocated to Birmingham, we had to visit Cadbury World.

As first timers, we were really excited to go behind the scenes and find out all about that wonderful chocolate, Cadburys. Having taken a train from Birmingham New Street Station, we arrived at Bournville Station. Then it was a short walk to Cadbury World.

First we collected some chocolate bars on the way into a short presentation where we learnt about the history of Cadburys. Next we stepped into Victorian Bull Street, where you can see the first grocers store by John Cadbury in 1824. Interestingly, he also sold tea and coffee amongst drinking chocolate.

Cadbury World is a self-guided exhibition tour, which means you can walk on your own.

The Manufacturing section

Here there are lots of interactive stations where you can see videos from the production line of how the chocolates are manufactured, for example; ever wonder how they make Cadburys Creme eggs or Roses?

Chocolate Making

Yes, it is exactly as the title says. You can see the chocolatiers demonstrating how they make the products by hand. It was nearly Halloween when we visited so they were making chocolate pumpkins.

You also recieve a pot of chocolate where you can add extra toppings such as crunchy.

4D Chocolate Experience

This was so fun and it is not only for kids. Brace yourself, as you are on a rollercoaster adventure with some of the most famous Cadbury characters. It is an immersive experience with motion effects  so may not suitable for everyone.

Cadabra

A journey through the land of chocolate on a beanmobile. Here you can see chocolate beans in different settings and activities such as sking, fishing.

Outdoor playground and amusements

There was an outdoor play area with slides and rope bridges for children. There was also a pop up tent with family events and shows.

Advertising Avenue

See all the iconic Cadbury advertisements over the years including the drumming gorilla and my favourite the Cadbury Dairy Milk advert, Yes, sir. I can boogie.

Cadbury Shop

The worlds biggest Cadbury shop! Lots and lots of Cadbury chocolates and merchandise. They also have a discounted section where you can buy multi-packs of Freddos and broken Cadbury chocolates.   Fancy taking home your very own drumming gorilla cuddly toy?

I have listed the main attractions in Cadbury World, however there were other attractions, which I shall leave you to find out when you visit. To finish, a collection of souvenirs from the day.
